Berkeley Castle Visit

Picture of the entrance to the Great Hall at Berkeley Castle where in 1327 acting as procurator of the whole Parliament Sir William Trussell solemnly renounced allegiance to Edward II. The castle is well worth a visit, it is truly unique.

Berkeley Castle is the oldest castle in England consistently inhabited by a single family and I spoke to Charles Berkeley in the Great Hall in 2008, maybe it was the first time a Berkeley and a Trussell met there since 1331 when Sir William Trussell exonerated Thomas Berkeley from culpability in Edward II death.
